On June 24, 2020, the Penn-Del-Jersey Chapter Legislative Committee hosted a Virtual Interview with Congressman Daniel P. Meuser of Pennsylvania’s 9th Congressional District.
Government Affairs Coordinator Aaron Kelley conducted the interview and made several legislative requests throughout.
The interview began with a discussion of the Congressman’s role as U.S. Representative for Pennsylvania’s 9th Congressional District, consisting of parts of Berks, Carbon, Columbia, Lebanon, Luzerne, Montour, Northumberland, and Schuylkill Counties. Meuser’s former role as PA Secretary of Revenue under Governor Tom Corbett was also discussed.
Topics of discussion during the interview included Congressional efforts to support small businesses, workforce development, repair the nation’s infrastructure, and response to the Coronavirus Pandemic.
The Chapter asked the Congressman to support H.R. 2344: “The Small Business Payment for Performance Act”, H.R. 5644: “The Construction Consensus Procurement Improvement Act”, and Composite Plan Authorization language in future Multiemployer Pension Reform Bills.
