NECA is accepting applications for its Recognition of Achievement in Safety Program at the local and national level through Wednesday, February 28. The Chapter encourages all members to participate in this Program. The Safety Achievement Program provides a member with a distinct marketing tool with which to differentiate themselves from their competitors.
Each member must complete both the Chapter and NECA National applications in order to be eligible for the awards.
NECA Penn-Del-Jersey Program
The Chapter’s annual Recognition of Safety Achievement Program acknowledges members that excel in multiple areas of their safety and health programs. Specifically, the Safety Achievement Program honors member contractors that have significantly lower OSHA recordable injury and fatality rates than the industry standard, and incorporate company safety practices above and beyond basic compliance. There are seven (7) available award categories:
- 0 to 25,000 labor hours
- 25,001 to 50,000 labor hours
- 50,001 to 100,000 labor hours
- 100,001 to 150,000
- 150,001 to 300,000 labor hours
- 300,001 to 500,000 labor hours
- Over 500,000 labor hours
In order to participate, members must submit the completed application form by Wednesday, February 28. The application form information will be based on the prior year of operation, using the formula (recordable cases x 200,000) / (labor hours). All of the information is required on the OSHA forms 300 and 300A, which must be submitted to OSHA by January 31 each year. If a contractor has fewer then 11 employees and does not submit to OSHA, these contractors must take their recordable cases from their Workers’ Compensation logs.
NECA National Program
NECA National’s Recognition of Safety Achievement Program is another award program for safety excellence and zero injury. To be eligible, NECA National requires each member to complete the online application.
