The Chapter is pleased to announce that our President, Daniel J. Hahn, Sr. has been selected to become a Fellow of the Academy of Electrical Contracting.
In 1968, NECA National established the Academy of Electrical Contracting at the Board of Governors Meeting in Philadelphia to honor outstanding leaders in the electrical construction industry. Fellowship in the Academy involves a rigorous application process and is one of the highest honors bestowed upon an individual in the industry. Dan will join Luke Cunningham, John Hahn, Frank Holleran, Tom Moore, and Jeffrey Scarpello as active Fellows from our Chapter. The Chapter has had 16 Fellows inducted since the inception of the Academy. A full list of Fellows can be found on the Chapter website here.
In the 1980s, Hahn started his career as an electrical apprentice. After working his way up in the electrical trade, from electrician to estimator and project manager, he was named Vice President of Furness Electric in 2006. In 2010, he became the company’s President. Under his guidance, Furness reached new heights of success. This is demonstrated by the many accolades received with Hahn in leadership: a dozen Chapter Safety Awards, seven NECA District II Safety Awards, four Delaware Contractors Governor Safety Awards, and one Chapter Project Excellence Award.
Hahn has also shown great devotion to NECA. For two decades, he has proudly served as a Chapter Board Member and Officer. In this role, he has helped expand the Chapter’s legislative efforts, strengthen its Student Chapter, and lead it to numerous NECA National Awards. He has also served on many Chapter Committees and Trust Funds, he is Chair of the NECA Delaware Division and the Delaware Division JATC. As Chapter President, Hahn was integral to the success of NECA 2018 Philadelphia: considered by NECA National as the greatest National Convention in the Association’s history.
Extremely involved in his Community, Hahn is the Past President of the Delaware Contractors Association and a successful, longtime Head Varsity Football Coach for Holy Angels Parish.
This will mark the first time in Chapter history that an Academy inductee will join their distinguished father as an Academy Fellow. Dan’s father, John F. Hahn, was inducted in 2000. The Penn-Del-Jersey Chapter thanks Dan for his years of distinguished service to our Association and wishes him a well-deserved congratulations on this achievement.
