Local Union Responsibilities

The local union, in partnership with the employers, shall undertake the following steps to ensure that the ideals of the IBEW Code of Excellence are being met every day, by every worker: 

  • Every effort shall be made to provide Code of Excellence training to every worker.
  • The local union Business Manager will appoint trained/effective Stewards. 
  • The local union shall promptly respond and investigate any jobsite problems and will work with management to resolve them as quickly as possible. 
  • The local union leadership shall promptly address any workers in violation of the Code of Excellence Program. 
  • The local union shall promote a drug free work place. 
  • The local union shall make every effort to provide the necessary mix of skilled, semiskilled and unskilled workers to the employer when needed. 
  • The local union Business Manager and officers shall continually promote the principles of the Code of Excellence and encourage all workers to uphold them.
