Worker Responsibilities

IBEW workers must help prove to the client that we are the best choice to perform electrical work. To promote that image and create customer loyalty, our workers agree to the following: 

  • Every worker shall adhere to the contractual starting and quitting times. 
  • Workers shall limit breaks to the agreed upon times. 
  • Workers shall adhere to the lunch period established by the agreement. 
  • Workers shall provide the tools as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement. 
  • Workers shall take care to properly utilize and secure the employer’s tools and equipment. 
  • Workers shall strive to be as productive as possible at all times. 
  • Workers shall communicate with the Steward and/or Business Manager if there is a problem with effective supervision. 
  • Workers shall not disrupt any project. Workers shall meet with their Steward and/or immediate supervisor to address any problem. Workers shall follow the grievance procedure outlined in the collective bargaining agreement. 
  • Workers shall respect the employers’ and customers’ property and equipment. 
  • Workers shall refrain from wearing clothing, stickers or buttons that are offensive in nature. 
  • Inappropriate behavior towards coworkers and/or supervisors shall not be tolerated. 
  • Workers shall utilize proper safety equipment and methods in their work. 
  • Workers will not leave the jobsite without proper prior notification to the appropriate supervisor.
