WHY BE A NECA CONTRACTOR?
The National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA), founded in 1901, is a national trade association dedicated to representing, promoting and advancing the interests of the electrical contracting industry. NECA is an extension of you. It’s that extra employee on your payroll that looks out for your interests.
NECA is composed of a National Headquarters, 4 Regional Offices, 10 Districts and 125+ Chapters. NECA policy is set by its members, who act through a Board of Governors. The Board of Governors consists of an elected member from each Chapter, the Association President, a Vice President from each District, and a Vice President at Large. Policies and programs established by the Board of Governors are carried out by the Executive Committee through NECA Offices and Staff.
Each local NECA Chapter is an independent affiliate of NECA National.
LABOR RELATIONS
We enhance the market position of signatory contractors by negotiating the most competitive terms in both local and national agreements. NECA is the vehicle for contractor participation in all aspects of labor relations.
CONVENTION
The annual NECA Convention and Trade Show provides you with the latest in products and services, affords you the opportunity to meet with other top contractors, and offers educational seminars of superior quality.
EASTERN REGIONAL MEETING
Every spring, NECA contractors from the northeastern region of the United States gather for a conference. This is a unique opportunity to exchange ideas with these other contractors and participate in interesting business sessions and educational forums.
GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS
NECA monitors federal, state, and local legislation and public policy to ensure that the best interests of NECA contractors are represented. We also directly advocate for our contractors, supporting industry-beneficial legislation, in these various levels of government.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
We help members identify, create, and take advantage of new market opportunities related to emerging technologies and trends. Additionally, we work with our government affairs team to expand market share within our jurisdiction.
EDUCATION
Our online and in-person training programs build a technically skilled and safety-conscious workforce, assuring customer satisfaction and improving productivity. Our management programs teach you about the latest in marketing, project management, financial administration, construction claims, and more.
OSHA / SAFETY CONSULTATION
Our OSHA Training and Consultation Program provides you with extensive training in the OSHA Safety and Health Standards, and a simple phone call to us will let you know if you are in compliance with these standards. Should you receive a citation from OSHA, we are there to represent you.
