Political Leadership Award

Each year, three Contractor Representatives are recognized for their dedication to the Chapter’s Government Affairs Program. This recognition is granted through the “Political Leadership Award,” which is won by acruing the most “Political Action Points” in a calendar year.

Political Action Points can be earned in the following ways:

  • Contribute to a NECA Political Action Committee (1 point per $100 contribution)

Each $100.00 contributed to the Chapter ’s local & state Political Action Committee (NECA-PAC), or NECA’s federal Political Action Committee (NECAPAC), will earn the contributor one (1) Political Action Point.

  • Host a Congressional Visit (10 points)

Members who host a Chapter-organized office or jobsite visit from a federal Senator or Member of Congress through the Chapter’s NECA Congressional Visitation Initiative will earn ten (10) Political Action Points per visit.

  • Attend NECA Government Affairs Events (3 points per event)

Members who attend Chapter-approved NECA government affairs events in a given year will be granted three (3) Political Action Points per event. These events include the PDJ-WPA Harrisburg State Advocacy Day, NECA National Legislative Conference in Washington D.C., approved meetings with local, state, or federal representatives; or other similar events that are pre-approved by the Chapter.

  • Respond to a NECA Action Alert (5 point)

Members will earn five (5) Political Action Points each time they respond to a PDJ Chapter or NECA National Legislative Action Alert email by contacting their representatives to voice their support or opposition to a bill or legislative action (as dictated by the email). Points are only earned if proof of contact is provided to the Chapter.
